The Nigeria ministers for Education manages the education sector in Nigeria at the tertiary level. The Nigeria Federal Ministry of Education is one of the Federal ministries in Nigeria. The Federal Ministry of Education mission is to use education as a tool for fostering the development of  all the citizens of Nigeria to their full potentials, in the promotion of a strong, democratic, egalitarian, prosperous, indivisible and indissoluble sovereign nation under God.

The Federal Ministry of Education under the Nigeria Ministers for Education performs the following functions:

(a)  Formulation of national policy on education.

(b) Collecting and gathering of data for educational, planning and financing purposes.

(c) Maintaining of uniformity in the standards of education throughout the nation’s.

(d) Coming up with curricula and syllabuses at the national level with the contributions of other concerned bodies.

(e) Through the instrumentality of the National Council on Education, this ministry harmonize educational policies and procedures for all states in Nigeria and host of other related functions.
