The Inspector General of Police (IGP) is the most senior serving officer in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The Inspector General of Police (IGP) is often recommended by the Nigeria Police Council to the President. The President in turn send the name of the recommended officer to the Senate for confirmation.
