The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) came into existence in 1967. Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is a paramilitary organization that was formally established on June 28,2003, when an act that give statutory backing to the NSCDC was passed by the National Assembly.

 

 

The act was signed by the then President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. The title of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) most senior officer is Commandant General.
